Automotive

Much of the sandblasting work we undertake is for automotive customers and vehicle owners, and it ranges from complete restoration projects to individual parts and engines. Often, we’re presented with wheels, vehicle parts and whole cars that have suffered years of neglect and where rust, oil staining and over-painting has left them in a bad state.

That’s why many garages, mechanics car enthusiasts, restoration experts and car owners insist on using our services. We treat every project on an individual basis and understand the delicate nature of restoration work and will use the choice of different media that’s right for the task.

Recent work we have completed includes…

  • Classic cars, motorcycle frames

  • Plant and machinery, forklifts, trailers and dumper trucks

  • Vehicle chassis, frames and bodywork

  • Steel Wheels, Aluminium wheels and alloy wheels

  • Engines, manifolds and exhaust systems

  • Engine components, axles and gearboxes

In fact the list is endless as we will work on almost anything automotive. so if you’re considering a restoration project and need the services of a high quality sandblasting company don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Pricing

Sandblasting is priced by the time spent rather than the individual items themselves – This is because no two cars or items are the same. Therefore,  The cleaner the car, the cheaper the price.

If your car is in its original paint then it’s more likely that media blasting can be used which is relatively easy.

If your car has been resprayed there’s a strong likelihood it will have been rubbed down and had fillers applied. Where modern paint has been sprayed on top this means it will take longer for us to complete the job and therefore a higher charge

If your car underbody is coated in underseal it will need to be scraped off before media blasting. This is also the case for interior coatings such as sound deadening and carpet glues. These are rubbery and anything that is rubberised means most blasting partials will just bounce off.

Some panels with excessive amounts of filler make it difficult for us to provide a time until we have started work (the deeper the filler the more time it will take us).

Prices start at around £800 for a small car and can vary alot due to the issues above, size of the car and what parts of the car the customer wants blasted.

Aluminium cars

Due to the more delicate nature of aluminium, these can take us much longer to complete.

Pricing could be from £1600 – £2500 depending on the type of paint / underseal filler and glues etc

And no matter what you have heard elsewhere we don’t distort or damage panels as we use a pressure regulated blast pot to precisely control the air pressure to reduce the stress on the panel during the blasting process.
